One year. We made it.
Exactly 365 days ago, the above text message explained it all. We'd made a huge leap, put to rest months of negotiating, meetings, more meetings and lawyers visits. The paperwork was done. The i's were dotted, t's were crossed. One year ago today, we purchased Gram's Diner.
Boy are we glad we did.
The past year has been a learning experience like no other. We've had our greatest successes, and some failures, but we've taken each in stride and worked every day harder than the last. What we're most proud of is the team that we've built. New employees and old, each one of them has worked harder than they ever have before and come to work each day doing their best. For that, we couldn't be happier or more proud.
We are thankful to every customer, new and old, who has walked through our front door and embraced the changes we've made to Adams's little diner. While not monumental changes, they've made all the difference. We've received so much support and feedback that there's no way we couldn't strive for better in our second year.
They say that 30 percent of restaurants fail in their first year. We're happy to have beat the odds and are looking forward to being around a long, long time.
Thanks again, see you in 2014.
