New brews!

We like to keep things fresh and interesting. When it comes to our beer menu, that theory still applies. These are four new brews hitting our beer cooler for the start of fall.

We're especially excited to have our first offering from Magic Hat, with Wilhelm Scream, a pumpkin beer. And equally excited to finally offer a hard root beer with Boston Brewing Co. affiliate, Coney Island Hard Root Beer. We drank them all summer long on the beach, now we're going to share. Enjoy!

Gram's and the NNY Community Foundation: Giving Back

January 14, 2015, marks our second anniversary owning our beloved Gram's Diner.

Our first holiday season we launched Gram's Gives Back, our annual initiative to give back to the community that supports us. The winter of 2013-2014 we raised funds and awareness for the Rhode Community Center and were beyond impressed with how fast word spread and how people helped us publicize what a fantastic organization the Rhode Center is.

This year we're celebrating our second anniversary by making a donation and lending our support to a brand new initiative from the great people at the Northern New York Community Foundation: The Six Town Community Fund.

Reflections: 2014

There are few times like this photo. A dark, quiet diner. A cup of hot tea and a moment to look around and ponder. But moments like this are necessary.

Our second year in ownership of Adams' hometown diner has been one for the record books. We've pushed ourselves, our imaginations, our employees and we've pushed each other. All in the name of building a business that not only brings pride to our community but also allows us to go home at the end of the day, proud of what we've built and accomplished.

This past year seemed like a blur but we're beyond smitten with everything we've accomplished, the limits we've pushed and the pride we've injected back into our business and our community. So thank you to everyone who made it a stellar 12 months, our families, friends, customers, and all of those customers who've become part of the Gram's family.

The only question remains: how will we make 2015 even better? For that answer, you'll have to stay tuned.

Happy New Year,

Kyle, Chad & Andrew

A day in the Gram's kitchen

Unlocking Gram's

When you come in for a Gram's visit, it's no secret what our servers do for most of the day. You get to see just about every move they make.

However, If you've ever wondered what happens behind the scenes, in the small kitchen tucked away in the back of the dining room through that four-foot wide window, here's your chance! We took an entire day and documented it with our iPhones. From the moment the doors open we documented a day in the life in the Gram's kitchen. Check it out, starting with the video to left and in the slideshow below:

Harleys and hors d'oeuvres!

Click the above image to enlarge for event details.

We love a good social function. So when we were asked by the South Jeff Chamber of Commerce if we'd like to co-sponsor the first Business After Hours event of 2014, of course we said yes!

On Thursday, Feb. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. we'll be joining our friends at F.X. Caprara Harley Davidson in Adams Center for an evening of food, drinks and lots of networking. So whether you're looking for new business contacts, or just want to come catch up with some people you haven't seen all winter, please join us!

And if you're in the mood to try some tasty hors d'oeuvres, we're hoping the following menu will entice you:

  • BLT Mini Bites withBacon Jam. That's right, bacon jam. Toasted crackers topped with cream cheese, house made beer-bacon jam, arugula and sliced cherry tomatoes.
  • White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries with Citrus Sugar. It's close to Valentine's Day, how could we say no to fresh strawberries, chocolate and lemon-orange spiked sugar.
  • Chicken Salad Sliders. We are a diner, after all. And we love a good chicken salad. So we're putting our classic chicken salad on top of brioche slider buns, topping them with a little arugula and tomato and calling it done like dinner.
  • Pepperoni and Asiago Pinwheels. It wouldn't be a party without pinwheels. Puff pastry loaded with grated Asiago, pepperoni, herbs and a touch of honey dijon mustard.
  • Caprese Kabobs. It's the middle of winter and we're craving summer, and one of our favorite summer salads: Caprese, a simple mix of fresh mozzarella, basil and tomato. So we're putting it on a stick for true party-worthiness. Cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and fresh mozzarella balls, served with a balsamic reduction for dipping.
  • Veggies with Hummus and Dip. There's always someone looking for the veggie tray at a party, so we are spicing things up a little with caramelized onion dip and roasted red pepper-roasted garlic hummus.
